About CastConnectPro

CastConnectPro is an online tool used by casting directors, film productions, and agencies since 2012 to efficiently manage all stages of a casting project online – from scheduling requests and live castings to e-castings, recalls, final cast lists, and daily call sheets for countless extras.

Additionally, CastConnectPro allows casting directors to easily present the current status of a casting project online to everyone involved in the decision-making process. Casters can also use a shared, continuously growing pool of actor profiles.

History

Martin Douglas, founder of CastConnectPro, has been working in the film and casting industry for around 25 years. After six years as a permanent casting director at Actors and Arts Casting Munich, during which he directed approximately 12,000 castings, he became independent and founded his own casting studio.

In his studio, he was looking for a solution to efficiently, user-friendly, and clearly organize large casting projects. Since no suitable software existed on the market, Douglas developed the idea for CastConnectPro and implemented it professionally in collaboration with experienced software developers.

Development & Growth

The first version of CastConnectPro went online in 2012. Since then, the tool has been continuously developed in close collaboration with casting directors, commercial casters, film productions, and extras agencies.

With the growing importance of e-castings in commercial productions and the increasing amount of data, the need for automated workflows also rose. Traditional tools became increasingly time-consuming. Martin Douglas therefore implemented e-casting functions and automated processes that significantly relieve casting directors.

Over time, CastConnectPro also expanded into the area of extras management, when Saxonia Media began organizing their extras independently. In collaboration with assistant directors, new features were specifically developed in CastConnectPro to simplify extras management significantly. These include the online availability calendar, an online booking system, and an interface to the payroll service provider adag, allowing extras digital check-in on set and streamlined billing. This enabled CastConnectPro to support the entire process from planning to payroll efficiently, transparently, and digitally.

Today, CastConnectPro is an internationally used online tool that helps hundreds of casting directors, directors, film productions, commercial casters, casting agencies, and extras agencies worldwide to work more efficiently and organize projects effectively.
